Doenjang Jjigae (Soybean Paste Stew)

There are two types of Korean people, one who prefers Doenjang Jjigae over Kimchi Jjigae, and the other way around. I usually belong to the former, and to me this dish is something that reminds me of family and home.

Janchi Guksu (Traditional Feast Noodles)

Despite its name being Feast Noodles, this dish is rather simple, it’s usually thin wheat noodles in warm anchovy broth. It has a clean, light and yet fulling taste, which I find is perfect for a bad hangover.

Wanja-jeon (Meat & Tofu Patties)

Wanja-jeon is a Jeon somewhat in between a patty and meatballs, but it has way more tofu and other veggies compared to meat. That’s how it gets a soft, pillowy texture.

Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes)

Some people might consider Tteokbokki as a junk food, but to me it’s something I crave when I miss Korean food or Seoul. Definitely this is one of my favorite soul + comfort food.
